"
I
know what I want...
I
just can't find it"
Picture
this: A customer walks into your store knowing what they
want, money in hand and ready to buy. However, they can't find
the item and are quickly
overwhelmed by the sheer size of the store and the vast
number of different products carried.
So
they wander around searching. And searching, finally finding an associate
to help. But
that employee's assigned to another department and doesn't know
where the item is either, or if you even carry it. So they
wander around together, searching, or call others to help.
Finally, the customer leaves in disgust, heading down to your
nearest competitor.
Or
this: Your employee does find the location of where that
item's supposed to be but finds it empty, apparently
out-of-stock. So, unaware that you have fifty additional items
in other locations throughout the store, the associate places an order for even more
stock while the customer still leaves
without buying.
The
result? A lost sale, a dissatisfied customer,
wasted time, excess
inventory,
increased bottom-line expense and further constraints on
valuable store space.
Far
fetched? It happens all the time.
In an industry with a traditionally high rate of
turnover, a growing use of part-time help, and
thousands
of items in big stores, it's
little wonder that a fairly large number of
shoppers often get irritated when they can't find what
they came
in to buy, or can't find a store employee who knows either.
That's why we designed the iPAL
product locator system
to help both customers and employees
find merchandise items easier and faster, particularly in large retail
formats such as supercenters, supermarkets, home centers,
and discount warehouse clubs.
By
combining the latest computing technologies with
TreoSystems' unique patent-pending software, iPAL provides two primary functions for today's major retailers:
-
To communicate immediate real-time product data and
location information for store employees and customers, and
-
To easily capture, update and track all product
placements, stock moves and location changes instantaneously.
Whether
it's an easy-to-use kiosk for the customer, a handheld mobile
computing device for an associate or any store terminal for all
employees, a retailer can now have a
positive impact on
a shopper’s store experience by being able to immediately
provide
the exact location of any product in the store
along with helpful information such as its price, how
many are in stock, and suggested related items
they may need.
iPAL
also gives
stores the capability to immediately capture, track and
control
location changes, streamlining the process of stock shelving,
receiving, backstock management and planogram resets. The result is a unique
tool for not only locating every retail product, but also
giving all personnel access to location changes - both
primary and alternative - immediately.
TreoSystems'
iPAL give retailers greater visibility and control of
merchandise by providing greater mobility tools to employees
involved in product placement and inventory replenishment. With
a better view of all merchandise locations, stores can reduce
excess inventory, improve merchandise utilization and
increase the productivity of its staff when stocking the
shelves.
